Walking Tours

The Besht Entertainment.

Whatever you want we got it. Galway has its fair share of festivals but there is one on every week in Galway’s Westend. The bars, clubs, pubs and venues  have a friendly rivalry over who can pack the most into a night’s entertainment.

A well worn trail through all the hostelries is trodden by the locals to see what is in store for that night. All and every taste of music is catered for depending on what you are in the mood for. Keep an eye out for the street parties or movies in the park, you won’t see anything like it anywhere else.

Bars and Nightlife

It's to Dine for.

The first Michelin Star west of the Shannon went to Aniar in Galway’s Westend. This was no accident or overnight success. Over the last 15 years, trailblazers like Oscars who were one of the first to cross the bridge, encouraged others to raise the “steaks’ of culinary excellence in the area.

Now we are very proud to be recognised as the food quarter of the city and the awards keep coming both nationally and internationally. The focus is on exceptional produce and service and not so much on what you are wearing. Book a table and leave room for dessert.

Restaurants

It's the Business

Galway’s Westend has always been about The Business. The Small Crane was the site of The Potato Market and the weighing scales is still there today. Family run businesses for generations work alongside new shops, bars, cafes and restaurants, getting ready to hand over to the next.

In one street you can get a fresh caught fish while you wait for your shoes to be repaired, and a locksmith retrieves the keys you left in the car. Come down and have a look… If we don’t have it we’ll find someone who does.
